As a group of scientists, civil servants and research institutes our main aim is to protect all Elasmobranch species in Irish waters. Our current objectives are to encourage, support and propose legislation to aid in the preservation of these species. One, such issue that has been ongoing for a few years now is the limitation of all 18 metre trawl vessels within the 6-mile limit. Below is an article on this from a few years back.
